More Yard Work!

Last night and the night before we worked on our pathway I am wanting to build. First step was clearing out the grass and digging down in the ground a couple inches! Believe it or not we actually got it all done in two nights! Well.....that is Sam got it done in two nights! HE did all the hard digging work. :) Superman he is for sure!

Nice wheel barrow don't you think! It is a kiddie pool on top a mush mower! :D It really worked great I have to admit.

I was the water girl! :) I kept him going. Hey, I cheered him on too! :)

So, now the next step is the mulch and then the stepping stones and accent monkey grass along the sides! Lots of work....beautifully worth every bit! Hope you guys aren't bored to death with these yard photos! :D I am just having a ton of fun is all so if you don't like them just don't look at them or read anything! :D You don't have to you know! *grinning*
Man, it is crazy how many times I use exclamation marks and smiling faces and *grinning* thingies....... *laughing now* SEE! :P
MISS YA"LL!!! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!
PS Mom be sure and show Dad Sam's wheelbarrow invention. He was talking about what Dad would say if he say his construction! :D

Weekend At The Park

Last weekend Sam and I went to the park for a picnic lunch and ended up staying the whole afternoon pretty much there. Is was a beautifully gorgeous day and we had found a little corner overlooking a very nice golf course and we had fun talking and watching golfers. (Especially the really bad ones! :) Sorry!!! But it just made I good laugh! I can guarantee that everyone would be laughing at me if I tried my wits on the gold course! :D

The Start Of A Makeover!

BEFORE and then AFTER!!!!!
Doesn't even look like the same place I know!

Well, the yard is coming! :) I am gonna make it absolutly amazingly beautiful! :) Maybe I should do landscaping as a business too! LOL I can't wait to get it all changing the way I visualize it. It just takes a LOT of work and a lot of hours and it is so humid hot in Texas too!!!

I still have a few things I want to do with the flower bed here but this is a HUGE start don't ya think! :D What is so funny is we put up a bird feeder in the yard a few days ago and we hadn't had any birds on it yet! Then after I finished this and went in I was fixing supper and glanced out the kitchen window and counted 13 little birds all over the ground and bird feeder! Even a Cardinal of all things was there too! :) I was jocking with Sam that it is all because I made it a more attractive place! :D

I am having fun on Lowes.com getting ideas and planning my next moves! Tomorrow we are spending the day working together, Sam and I, which is gonna be a big soul lifter up for me!

OH! This is my little friend ummm.......Larry the Lizard! :D Well, I rescued him so it was like he came back to thank me! He was trying to get away from me of course when I started moving his playground of dead logs and sticks. He got stuck in between two logs and it was quite funny actually. His back legs and tail was the only thing sticking out and wiggling back and forth 100 mph! Grin. I moved the log and.,.......he was GONE! Then a little but later I spotted him on the concrete ledge right by me as if watching my every move and thanking me for not squishing him! :D

Okay, well I am quite sure you guys REALLY do not care about all this! lol I was just proud of myself and quite excited to be making the backyard a tasteful reminder of country beauty. It shall me my getaway place when I am all done with it! :D

Officially Here

I suppose I am now officially here I guess.

I don't know if I can rant and rave with excitement yet either just to let all you CRAZY :P Lone Star State fans. I just don't quite understand why Texas is so much more special to so many than any other state in the US. I am trying my very best to get used to it here. I am getting there. It is just taking me some time, okay!

I am wondering if I should keep this as a keepsake? Whatcha guys think? :D It reminds of my counrty home in the good ol' country dirt roads!! :(
I miss you Oklahoma, family, friends, church work, Curves Ladies :)....all ya'll. Well one thing is at least my Okie accent fits down here real well! :D

Simple Beauty!

~ For the beauty of the earth... ~
Granny Fowler gave me this plant for a wedding present and I have been having fun trying to keep it in a warm place all the time with all this cool weather and storms we've been having. This last week several blooms finally opened and revealed their splendid colorful beauty for all to admire!

A Busy Weekend!

Last Saturday was not only Sam's birthday but his brother Guy and Scarlett's wedding! It was a crazy busy weekend with all his family from all over coming in. A big family reunion you know! :)
Rehearsal Dinner Decor....

Rehearsal At The Chapel...

The other big thing was it was Grandpa James Shepherd's 90th birthday and his big surprise was his new fiance Mary! (That is her third person from the left in the pink sweater next to Grandpa!!!!!)

Yes, Grandpa James is getting married again July 12th as a matter of fact! I wish I had gotten a picture of them together because It was so cute to watch them together. I do have to say she is very sweet. *laughing* No one can believe all these Shepherd marriages that are all happening at once! :)

One bug highlight of the birthday party was Uncle Roger got the helium balloon and was letting people put on a show for G-pa! Of course G-pa went first! We got quite the laughs with that! :D

"Innocent" little JoJo was NOT supposed to be in the cake! :)

My family came down for the day and brought my dear friend Julie too and of course I bawled like a big baby when they arrived and left! Hey, they cried too! :P *laugh* It was so nice to see them again and I cannot wait until Mothers Day weekend now when we go up to Oklahoma!

Last Thursday I had Sam and little party ready for when he got home from work! :) That proved to be a lot of fun! The bad storm and siren warnings made it even more exciting! :) Thankfully we didn't get hit bad. The hail we got wasn't much to talk about. Just heavy rain and bad thunder! Lots of fun! I love storms like that! :)

Sam wanted pizza for his b-day dinner so I went creative with it! :D

He got his own little b-day cake for his lunch at work. :D

He was a little bit......surprised. :)

A little bit more!

So, since I last posted much has happened already it seems. Married life keeps you on your toes that is for sure. Especially on your toes with your relationship with God!!

We lost our electricity due to that really bad storm we had the middle of last week. We were only out for a little over two days but it seemed like living in a whole new world without it! You can't do anything literally! No lights, no clocks, no fridge, no cooking at all, no curling iron to get dressed up for anything :), no anything it seemed! It was fun for a while but let me tell you when the lights came back on I was hooping and hollering! :)

Last Saturday Sam and I killed ourselves working in the yard. The people that were here before us were certainly NOT yard people. So much dead stuff! We even uprooted a tree with our hands and body weight! :)

I took before pics and once I get some things looking really nice the way I want them I post before and after pics! :D I am gonna make the back yard my country haven in this noisy train filled city! :D lol Needless to say after spending all day using hand shears, hand saws, and hand shears to trim shrubs, bushes, and tree limbs I am STILL sore and it has been two days!

Sunday we went to a church that I had heard about from a lady I work out with. A small church of maybe 100 people or so and we were SO welcome there! So made to fill like at home. It was a very relaxed church, one of those that makes everyone fill welcome. You could tell there wasn't any judging about where a person was at in the Lord. The sermon was awesome! The music was a little shaky and fresh on its feet you could tell....lets just say not too many great singers but that doesn't matter to God right! :) We even got invited by a couple who got married last June to go eat with them afterwards! :) So, we felt much better about trying to find a church after that visit but.......guys, I am so so homesick for you all! My church family! My church office work! All you people who made so much of my life the way it is now!

Please do pray for us. Especially me! :) LOL After this weekend I have been having a really hard time with life....living in a city, trying to fit into a new group of people, finding my groove here, waiting on God to show me what is next.....it is scary sometimes when I wake up and it hits me a new day in Fort Worth, Texas! What on earth am I doing here! :D :D *grins*

I am so grateful that God never leaves us. Oh good Lord, where on earth would I be if He did!!!
