The weekend and more...

This last Saturday Sam and I worked like crazy! For some reason it was THE day! I don't think we really planned to do all that we did but we sure did! It was the handy-man go-to-it day I guess you could call it!

Lets see......fixed blinds, cleaned out the tub drain, pulled the full size bed from the boys room and stored it in the garage, puddied holes in the walls for painting soon to come in there, painted a dresser for the boys room, tore down our swimming pool for the year, cleaned it, and stored it, chopped firewood for our soon coming camping trip, hung some wall hangings in the kitchen, trimmed up trees and shrubs, and mowed and weed-eated the front and back yard! That is all I can remotly remember off the top of my head! :D It felt so good thoough to realize all we did! :) Next Saturday we're already planning for another big bang work day like this one to happen again! :D We'll see.....

It is the prefect height to turn the top into a changing table by adding one of those perfect scooped out changing mats you can get! :D Very happy about that one! Should be cute and extremely handy indeed!

We went to bed tired that night for sure but feeling oh so good!

Yesterday after church we went to the Fowler's for lunch which was delicious and relaxing and then we went to see Fireproof! Peoples if you haven't seen it yet YOU MUST GO! :) Wonderful! Even better than Facing the Giants if you can believe that!

So, now is Monday the start of another week...and I pray not a LONG week! I am pretty much taking it easy today. I am really tired! What's new I guess! I did get my workout in though but now I just feel like a nice long nap! Tonight is our appointment with our midwife Judith. That is going to be nice. Our first meeting after finding out it is twins. SO many concerns and thoughts and worries running through my head that need her resounding confidence and answers to boost them out! :)

Happy Monday All!

Baby Ramblings Of The Day!

So, with the babies going to be here I am told within a max. of 4 months, VERY likely it could be 3 months from now it seems with twins, Sam and I have started doing some serious planning and thinking, which of COURSE with babies is serious fun! :)

We actually had a blast last night STARTING to register at Babies R Us, which I bet takes us two or three more trips to finish! *laugh* We got two "gift boxes" (because we're having two babies) from registering there full of baby sample supplies and I thought the little newborn diapers were absolutely adorable of course! Last time I changed a diaper is was on a toddler and those diapers are...well big! :D The lady was joking around about them being for daddy to practice on! :D REAL MEN CHANGE DIAPERS! Don't forget that! :P
I do think that ALL my shirts are officially ready to retire and maternity shirts are ready for their turn for good now! I laugh at my little belly peakin' out! :) They are saying "HI"!

I think Samuel is actually even more excited about having twins than even I am right now!!! Of course for me that makes things millions of times more fun! :)

We're re-working on names again but have some really good ideas! Yes, we ARE keeping the names secret just to clear that up now! :D Today I am going to get more blue paint samples on cards from Lowe's to stick on the wall and visualize! Picking paint has ALWAYS been a hard thing for me to do. Mainly I think because I am not picking what I necessarily like but what other people's opinions are! :) Sam's says I am not to do that so I am going to give it another try here!

I started ready on a couple twin books Judith our midwife gave us. So, much to think about and understand in my opinion! But, it started getting me more prepared for a twin labor and birth and even for the rest of this pregnancy. My brain is still filled with questions and concerns and thoughts. Problem is I have no idea how my body will handle it all so I gotta release it to the Lord and just do what I can do get ready! It is kinda stupid to worry about something I guess if you don't even know if it will happen or not! I do hope I can still go home for Christmas!!! I guess if not then they will just HAVE to come to me! :P

Okay, I feel like I am blabbering with possible giddy excitement and I shouldn't bore others, right! :) Hey, if you were having twins in a slightly foreign place to you still, maybe you would understand my love to share all my little tidbits of news about having twins!! Even if it is small! *laughter*
Lil' Jeremy came over to play with his cousins....or I should say nap with them...but they weren't there! I don't think he was too confused though. He kept right on sleepin'. :)

Lil' Jeremy Junior!

Well, mostly I put these up so my Mom could see my new little nephew Callie and Jeremy have! :D Isn't he cute! It makes me think of our babies pictures on here! :D Wonder if they will look more like Sam or me? I bet Sam! I can JUST picture two blond curly heads running around the house! :) That was Sam when he was little! SOOOO cute! :D

This one makes me laugh! He's already blowing kisses!

There are two in there!

Here is the video of the sonogram when we found out the news! I just barely missed when she told us. You get right on our reaction!

Towards the end you might be able to tell when she is looking at the heart of one of them and it is so cool looking!!

Excitment Settling!

Well, as the hours go by my excitement grows I will admit. Monday all day and late into the night I was on the craziest roller coaster of emotions you can possibly imagine and I couldn't seem to sort out anything inside as I cryed my eyes out and for what reasons I wasn't sure!

Yesterday was a much better day. Sam was able to work from home yesterday morning and it was wonderful having that bodily support at home for a little bit for some reason! I was able to sit down all afternoon yesterday and did into the Internet. I found some good pregnancy sites for parents having multiple babies that would VERY helpful and certainly gave me a little more of a feel for what I was into or what to expect over the next.....year! :D *laugh* So, much changes when you are having twins INCLUDING your pregnancy, labor and birth. I think it just may take me a couple weeks to have strong confidence in myself, is all!

Of course, everyone being crazily excited for us certainly helps! :) It is just so crazy that we are having twins! I just shake my head in wonder every time I sit still and think about longer than....10 sec. or so! :)

It is going to be a little hard after they are born I know when all my family help is in OK. All those willing hands to hold babies and change diapers! :D lol My Mom was joking about finding a rent house down here to rent for a month or two! :D I just laughed at that one! Sounds like something she would say though! :P

So, today I am making out lists! :) Hey, I am a very big planner organizer I simply can't help it! Lists such as To-Do's around the house, prioritizing what is most important. Lists for getting this office/guest room converted into a room for two little boys! Lists for baby registry (craziness for two, that's for sure) and lists for what we need to buy in order of importance. Most importantly letting the realization sink in and preparing myself for the fact that I have four months and the babies are here! IF they don't come sooner like I was told ALL twins do!! Wowzers! The holidays are really going to make that come down fast on me! But, it is going to be WONDERFUL when it is FINALLY FINALLY here for sure!!!

I am MAKING Sam get me up in the morning when he gets up. :) I don't think he likes that very much! :) I have to get up early to fit the food in my tummy I am supposed to. Instead of solidly sleeping until 10:00 and then getting up and eating "lunch" I am getting up at 7:30ish and eating a very small breakfast (I really can't hold much) and then a small snack in between then and lunch and then in between then and super and I am taking a good nap in the afternoon! I am enjoying the rest and sleep now while I can that is FOR SURE! :D

Thank you all for all your prayers and your....joy! :) Sam and I are super blessed or way too many ways!

Twins!?! Boys!?!

Yea that is exactly my reaction to the surprising news we heard! !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?! :D

"Well, no wonder you are big," she says. "There are two!"

(They were extrememly roaled up and we watched them kciking at each other's heads as a matter of fact! I could feel them wallaping all over too! As a matter of fact they still are! I certainly am feeling the babies! Something else really cool is Sam got to feel one of them last Sat.!!! I was surprised but we were both excited over that! Even though at the time we didn't realize there were TWO!)

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

I was crying like a baby, Sam was standing and staring I believe unmoving! It took her MAYBE 30 sec. to tell us they were both boys only to make me cry harder and gasp a little.

Okay so Judith had said it was a maybe but we REALLY HONESTLY didn't think it was true. It was just something fun to be able to say and think about I think in our minds. Yes, twins are fun and cute and such a blessing but I didn't really think about it as ever happening or it ever could happen to us!!!

So, that was 5 and 1/2 hours ago and I have moved from the thoughts of, "This IS NOT exactly what I had in mind.....oh help," to "Okay Lord, you obviously wanted us to have twins because there is no logical way we could since they do not run in either side of our family. You OBVIOUSLY purposely and clearly placed them in MY womb of all wombs to pick *grin* but......oh man, you're gonna have to give me some grace here. I know you will but.....Two boys! Wowzers!"

ONE thing for sure the Shepherd generation is NEVER going to die on this earth! :) With Mom Shepherd having 5 sons then Andy having 5 sons and then Jeremy just having his first baby a son and then us having twin sons........and that doesn't even count all the Shepherd relatives that are boys! The Shepherd army! :)

It is going to be fun! Wonderfully fun and OH SO CUTE and I will get small babies!!!! I have ALWAYS wanted a 6-7 lb baby and now I am gonna get two maybe 4-6 lb babies, eh? :D Course there is going to be a lot of challenges too. Especially with me being down here with no help and after Sam goes back to work especially I think about a lot of things. Hauling around two car seats everywhere one goes sounds interesting and tiring too.

So, be praying for us! We are both VERY excited but there are so many other emotions whirling around too right now! I know it is going to be such an up and down hill road! Right now everything is in perfect order. Both babies and myself are tip-top shape I guess you could say! :) So, just pray that it continues to the end that way! Be praying too that we will be able to sell my mustang and get a car. That is a BIG thing financially and physically! There is no way we can get two infant car seats in the back seat! :D So family car searching is about to begin I suppose!

Samuel and Leslie Shepherd with two boys! Wow...... :D Yes it is a little crazy but I know it will be more exciting as I let it sink in more!

I'm not sure what I am thinking or feeling right now...okay!

But I DO know that I AM happy! That is one identified certainty!

We love you two little guys down there!!! You just gave us a bit of a surprise!!!

Baby Movement?!

Well, I was going to post this like.....yesterday morning but as you can obviously see I didn't! :D

I think I have finally felt the baby move! I could be wrong but...I'm not so sure I am. Wed. night I was laying on the couch watching "Clean House" with Sam (love that show) when out of the blue I felt a what felt like a solid little poke inside me! It actually made me kinda jump I guess just because I wasn't expecting it and hadn't felt anything like that. Just cramping pains and tightness! I was grinning from ear to ear and of course Sam thought he could feel it if he put his hand on my tummy! *laughter* (Then he pouted because he still has a ways to go before HE can feel anything. lol) Later I felt the same thing again!

Last night I felt the same feeling for the 3rd time!!! So, MAYBE just MAYBE I have finally felt the baby...or babies! LOL I really do have fun saying that even though I don't think it is babies guess we won't really know until Monday! :) Kim thinks it would be wonderful fun to have twins! I don't know what I think yet! :) They are cute for sure. But I guess I think of all the more work, tiredness and expenses. I know it would be worth it though! So, I think I will simply cross that bridge if we end up coming to that bridge and that is that!!! :D

My big problem right now is maternity cloths. I am completely grow of all my normal skirts and pants. I can't even button them actually! :) Which poses a problem when I can't find maternity skirts I like so thus WHAT DO I WEAR TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY IN OK!!!!! Yea, I don't know either! I do have some maternity jeans with the small band that fits under the waist that are comfy but can't wear those to Western Hills.....LOL

As for shirts...not a problem yet really though I am limited to 1-2 tee shirts I have that don't show off the bottom of my belly :) and maternity shirts still kinda hang on me yet since most of them are made for further along bellies. I have some cute long sleeved ones but no use wearing those now and getting hot! I'll be using those a lot in a few months. Normal shirts just don't fit right at all so I have quite a limited wardrobe for now. Guess I am at the middle stage or something! :)

Tonight Sam and I head for OK! My Mom's 50th b-day bash is this weekend and we are doing her up big! :D Sat. morning we have FINALLY have our last "pre-marital" counseling with Pastor Jerry though I think it hilarious! We were supposed to do it 5 1/2 months ago! *laughter* Hey, it is really hard to fit it into our traveling schedule when we come up! We want to be with family! Besides he has had his mind on other things for sure too with Sandra! :D So, I guess we are both to blame. I do wonder what we will talk about though now! ........Oooooooooo! :P

Okay, okay moving on! So, Monday I will have to let everyone know what the baby is! SO, if you haven't guessed yet either boy or girl on our pole you might want to hurry! :D lol

Last Weekend.

So, finally I shall put up some pictures of Mom and I's weekend together at the CM crop in Arlington, TX! :D Mom came down Friday night and Saturday we got up early and packed our CM bags for cropping all day! Surprising at it may be the day went WAY to fast! I had thought we would get tired and leave before it was over but we ended up staying until right before 8:00 that night!

We really packed light for an all day crop! We both were working on specific projects though so we only took what we needed for that! Some of those croppers brought their whole closet it seemed!!! :D

Don't ask.....being nuts I guess! :D

Momma "mingo" with her best bud. (A family thing in our house! lol)

We ended the day with dinner at La Madeline's! My favorite restaurants in Texas so far! :D

Love you Mom! Thanks for coming down and hanging out! :D I had a wonderful time. :) Even with our buddy across from us, eh? (inside joke)

So this coming weekend is Mom's 50th b-day!!! OH BOY! We are gonna have fun for sure! lol We are going up to OK Friday night for the weekend.

Today is just another ordinary day for me I guess. Though it is day #3 that I have had the windows in this house open without closing them once!!! I love it! It is so fresh and homey and all that natural light coming in makes me happier! :D I love waking up in the morning and the room is cold! Snuggling under the covers being lazy as the sun sneaks higher in the sky. I love walking around for a little bit in my warm white fuzzy robe and eating breakfast on the porch! Ahh....Yes, tis wonderful!

Paradise!

I am loving this weather! Oh, how it reminds me of Colorado! :) Today it has been in the 60's-70's all day with the sun shining and the cool breeze blowing! I enjoyed breakfast on the porch this morning soaking it all in and smiling! Days like this put me in a really good mood! *grins* I opened all the windows in the house making it smell and feel absolutely deliciously relaxing in here! I hope it stays like this a while because oh how I love it so!

This last weakened was an absolute blast with Mom here! I will post pics sometime and tell all about it! I am busy this week finishing Mom's b-day present and preparing for her big 50 year birthday bash this weekend! Looking forward to the trip to OK as always!

My sister-in-law Callie had her baby Sunday morning too which made this weekend even more special! He is absolutely adorable even at a whopping 9 lbs!!! Baby and Mommy are both doing great and after we went to see them last night and got back home Sam said, "Okay, we need our baby here now." It made me smile and giddy all over with excitement!

Are they gone?

Okay so you all remember the mice and rat problem we had not too long ago and how bad it was yet we ONLY caught one of those nasty rats out of them all? Then suddenly they completely "seemed" to disappear. We didn't hear them or smell them or have any signs of them again.

Well, today I fear my pregnant nose might have caught up with a not so welcome smell again! I swear after I came home from working out this morning that I walked in the house and smelled a dead mouse. Either that or SOMETHING that smells just like that smell since I have yet to find anything. Though something could be in the walls or ceiling you know!

I got this hilarious picture in my head or little micey eyes peaking out at me laughing their squeaky heads off at this weird pregnant lady sniffing around Just Like A Dog trying to discern exactly where the smell was coming from. :) I did kinda feel stupid after I pictured that! :D lol

Other than that I am having a really good day today! Mom is coming in sometime this evening to stay the weekend! tomorrow there is a big CM crop/gala going on in Dallas that we are going to and my plan is to wipe out a big part of our wedding album! My goal is to have it done by Christmas so I better get my act going!!! :)

I am looking forward to that and we'll see if these storms from the hurricane hit us tomorrow morning like they are said to!?

OH! You all need to do the poll on the right side of this page!! You only have until a week from this Monday to make your guess hopefully since that is when we are having the ultrasound done!!! :D What do YOU think!!!!!????

A Night Out

Last night was perfectly fun! :) Sam brought me home these delightful roses for our 6 months of marriage!

When we got to the car he had placed a rose on the dash with a card! It was raining quiet hard on us which made the trek all the more romantic I suppose.

He took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner which was a treat I relished! :) I love that place and I didn't even know that they existed down here in Texas! :)

We had to hurry back home for our appointment with Judith our midwife!

All seems to be fine there other than the fact I measured 21 cm making Judith think I was further along than thought OR I have two growing babies inside me.....twins?!.... I do not see how that could be possible but I guess you never know!!! :D The sonogram on the 22nd will clear everything up for sure! LOL

She did chew on me for not eating enough or right....lol :) I just don't have much of an appetite at all unless I am craving something! I literally have to make myself eat and just do it or my stomach rolls all over tin-buck-to thinking about having to eat. But, I gotta start cracking down on myself not JUST for the babies sake either. It is weird how that two months of sickness turned me off of so many things.....like food! :)

So, I am keeping a food diary so I stay accountable to eating and drinking plenty of water. It helps to have accountability each week. Sam is really helping a lot too. He will do pretty much anything to help me out! He even hard-boiled me some eggs last night so I would have a different variety of "fixing an egg" for good protein. Scrambled eggs get old fast and I don't like them much of any other way.

I got to feel the baby bouncing back and forth inside me like a ping pong, thanks to Judith! It was such a slight feeling but I could feel it as she pushed it back and forth! The heart beat was much stronger, louder and more confident then last time we heard it! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! :D

So tonight's dinner menu at the Shepherd house here in TX looks like green saled, fruit saled and then whatever else Sam's feels like he wants cause nothing sounds good to me! :D lol

1/2 a Year ago...

...at this time exactly. 2:00 PM

The doors opened and down the isle I went trying to breath, heart pounding with excitement and joy taking over every nerve in my body! Sam stood grinning at the end of the isle eyes locked on me! :D

Seems like forever ago since that day! Today is our 6 Mon. wedding anniversary and no it doesn't seem possible at all! This past half year as been the most life changing, exciting, happy, and scary time in both of our lives and oh how I look forward to dozens and dozens of more half years like this past one!!!

Samuel I am so honored to be your wife and the soon to be mommy of your baby in just five months! I love you so very much and thank God every day for you!!!

Some kind of Saturday!

Well, today wasn't like a normal Saturday for us which is okay just...not normal! :D Sam actually had some work non-blepo related this morning so he left me to sleep in and dragged out of bed to head over to complete about a three hour job! He finally got home about 2:00ish (took a little longer than expected) and we went and got lunch. I was actually starving by then! LOL

I spent the morning while he was gone cleaning, putting together our NEW BABY GEAR :D and walking around the house! :) (Yes the Lord blessed us with a SUPER nice travel system (stroller and infant car seat) as well as a bouncer! Sam says it looks so empty without our baby in them! *grins*) I wanted to go swimming but that sounded quite boring to do by myself today. The baby must've been doing something inside me (truthfully I know it is just everything growing and expanding) because I was having some weird sharp cramps and pains all morning. Just something I better get used to for sure! :) I told my Mom I swear I am going to have horrible back labor when I go into labor because my back NEVER ceases to stop hurting as it is now!! Sam is getting super good at hard back rubs for sure though! Wonderful Superman! :)

After we ate Sam helped me clean the rocking chair I got last weekend for the baby's room and got me going with painting it then Blepo had an emergency so Sam started working again. He ended up working on that up until about 30 min. ago and it is pitch dark but that darlin' booger didn't get a chance to mow the lawn like he had planned today so guess what he is doing! :) He is outside with his headlamp on mowing in the dark! :D I just sat on the porch and laughed at the smiling nut until a little bit ago! After holding the power flashlight for him to do the weed eating! :) You gotta be crazy together, eh!? Oh my, how I love this man of mine! He DOES make life quite fun and lighthearted sometimes!

Needless to say this was kinda like a normal work day for Sam except he got to work a little at home instead of at the office! :)

I am already so tired and ready for bed and I am going to crash as soon as I can since I have orchestra in the morning at 7:45! Yikes.....

I think we're due for a nap tomorrow afternoon! *grins* Thank you Lord for Sundays!!! :D

Labor Day Weekend

Fun fishing on my families farm!

Katie waiting for a bite.......

Jared caught the first one and then had fun baiting his hook! Bye bye little grasshoppers!!! :)

Grasshoppers WERE the perfect bait! The fish were biting like crazy. Only draw back on that was you had to catch them all!

Sam's catch of the day. He didn't catch a fish so this was something we had to keep document of! LOL
Poor Mom got stung by a wasp on her eyelid. It keep swelling with each day we were there it seemed like. ........yea......ouch!

Don' even ask! :D

Say your last words my dear fishy friends.......
Little squirt and and I even did our share of the cleaning!
But yes, Dad DID do most of it! :)

Yumm......raw fish... :P
All ready to eat and yes, it was pretty delicious actually! :D
Overall we had a blast of a weekend but even though we stayed Friday night through Tuesday night it didn't seem like we were there very long at all. Time always goes faster when you DON'T want it too! :)

Saturday I went thrift store shopping with Mom Shepherd and found the PERFECT rocker for the baby's room! It is solid wood and red with ugly cushions but my Mom is recovering them for me in black denim and I am painting the chair white! Mom Shepherd also had a dresser for us for the baby's room that I am going to paint black! :)

Sunday night we went up to my families house and left Tuesday evening. So, it was a nice weekend on both sides I guess! :)
